i almost cared
i was just about to shut the computer down, watch 1 final US open day 1 highlight and head to bed when i saw an odd commercial. it was a shot of a homeless man, apparently sleeping. it told how someone almost brought him a blanket, someone almost brought him food, almost almost almost. then it said something about him almost living through the night. then it told you to give shit to homeless people.
my problem is that nowhere did the commercial state any legitimate facts about the guy. why is he homeless? if he's just some crazy man then he probably doesn't deserve free handouts. did he try? did he make an effort to work? could he not get a shit job for now and live in low income housing? i don't understand why those creating and supporting the commercial feel this man is just entitled to handouts with no questions asked (or at least explained). homelessness in and of itself does not entitle one to free handouts from others. or if it does, perhaps i haven't cast my career net wide enough.
