cheesy

today i entered a contest and if i win, i might win my own weight in cheese! it's unclear as to whether this would be all one kind of cheese or if it would be a variety (my guess would be the latter), but just in case, i must pose a question: if you could get 190lbs of only one kind of cheese, what kind do you get?

i think the obvious choice is a sharp cheddar. but there are many varieties and cheese choosing strategies. do i go for what i like the best? do i opt for the most expensive, realizing i'll never eat it all and should sell some of it? how does one go about maximizing the pleasures of winning a cheese contest?

what kind would you get?

i will be mulling this over in the coming days. but for now, start lactating cow!

uh, harvarti. DUH. and then when you win, give half of it to me and we can have a fondue fiesta. or, you could just give it to me, period. :)

It's not cheese per se (considering a) it's Velveeta and b) it's got other stuff mixed in) but I would get my weight in queso. Mmm.

parmesan. because i love it when it's hard.

just kidding, i really would say parmesan. i've always loved to sprinkle a ton of it on pasta, but i never thought of buying it by the wedge and nibbling on slices of it at a time until i started hanging out with an italian non-cooking lawyer friend whose refrigerator is pretty much constantly bare except for bottled water, champagne, and parmesan. then i realized it does make a nice little snack. (plus i still pile it on top of pasta)

Brie to have with jams and jellies and crackers

Fresh Mozzarella for pizzas (Boboli + Mozzarella + spaghetti sauce + meats of your choice= crazy delicious) or Caprese Salad

Parmesano Reggiano - add class to the ordinary salads/pastas

Mild Cheddar (NACHO!)

I'll be so jealous if you win the cheese. I'll also refer to you as the Big Cheese - well, I do that anyway, but now it will make sense.
